Main roads nearby include Western Relief Road, Bilton Road, Lawford Road, Newbold Road and Dunchurch Road. The DVSA doesn't publish test routes, so the drive covers the same kinds of roads your examiner can choose from.
Getting ready for a test at Rugby
Within 2 km there are 12 roundabouts and 12 sets of traffic lights, close to the middle for test centres in Great Britain. Limits go up to 50 mph, and driving too slowly is marked too. 51.4% passed here in 2025-26, close to the GB average.
A car test lasts around 35 minutes, with a show me and a tell me question and a pull up on the left. The examiner picks the roads on the day, so practise the junctions, not one route.
