Getting ready for a test at Grantham (Somerby)
The 1 roundabout and no traffic lights within 2 km are both fewer than at 9 in 10 test centres. Expect more give way lines. You judge most gaps yourself. Limits go up to 60 mph, and driving too slowly is marked too. 57.9% passed here in 2025-26, 7.9 points above the GB average.
A car test lasts around 35 minutes, with a show me and a tell me question and a pull up on the left. The examiner picks the roads on the day, so practise the junctions, not one route.
