Getting ready for a test at Bishops Stortford
There are 28 roundabouts within 2 km, more than at 8 in 10 test centres. Pick your lane early. Some roads nearby have limits of 60 mph or more, so match the traffic when you join. 51.3% passed here in 2025-26, close to the GB average.
A car test lasts around 35 minutes, with a show me and a tell me question and a pull up on the left. The examiner picks the roads on the day, so practise the junctions, not one route.
